WHO is Guru Rinpoche?

Padmasambava ("Born from a Lotus"), also known as  Guru Rinpoche(Precious Guru) and the, Lotus from Oddi Yana  was a tantric Buddhist  master from India who taught Vajrayana in  Tibet (circa 8th – 9th centuries). He came to Tibet in the 8th century and helped construct , Samye  Monastry the first Buddhist monastery in Tibet. However, little more is known about the actual historical figure other than his ties to Vajrayana and Indian Buddhism.

Why did  Guru Rinpoche came To Bhutan?

Guru Rinpoche came to Bhutan in 810 AD, the year of the  Iron tiger  at the incitation of king Sindhu Raja of Bumthang. King 's life-soul making the king ill. Guru Rinpoche Came From Nepal And entered Bhutan via Nabji Korphung in Trongsa. He came to Bumthang , Subded the local and deity  and the king recovered.




He is said to have come to central Bhutan in the 8th century. 
Spread the teachings of the Buddha and blessed the people of the land of Dragon that constitutes modern Bhutan. Guru Rinpoche is the most popular deity or Buddha, believed to be connected to Bhutan through karma.

History of Guru Rinpoche

Padmasambhava, an 8th-century Indian tantric master, was invited by King Trisong Detsen to Tibet to help establish Samye Monastery. He tamed local spirits and performed miracles, enabling the monastery's construction. His teachings became influential in Tibet by the 10th century. The first full biography was revealed by Nyangrel Nyima Özer in the 12th century, and later works expanded his legend, portraying him as a "second Padmasambhava, an 8th-century Indian tantric master, was invited by King Trisong Detsen to Tibet to help establish Samye Monastery. Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche, was an 8th-century tantric Buddhist master from India who introduced Vajrayana Buddhism to Tibet and helped build Samye Monastery. He is central to Tibetan Buddhism, particularly the Nyingma school, and revered for concealing sacred texts (terma) to be discovered by future treasure finders (tertöns). His teachings and practices remain influential, especially in guru yoga, and he is venerated across the Himalayan region and worldwide.
